Welcome to Astmoor Primary School  and thank you for visiting our website. We are a community school located in the heart of Castlefields in Runcorn Town. We share our site with an adult learning centre and a private day nursery. We are also very close to the local shops, health centre and community centre.

We currently have just under 140 pupils which allows us to operate very much like a big family. We are proud of the nurturing ethos that we have cultivated in our school and positive relationships are at the heart of everything we do. Our school is a happy one and people often comment on this when they visit. We have a very committed team of people who work tirelessly to provide the best education possible. Inclusion is our strength here at Astmoor and we are committed to finding solutions in order to support all children to do well. In April 2024, we opened two new Resource Base classes for children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties. Willow class is our resource base for children in Foundation Stage and KS1 and Sycamore Class is our resource base for children in KS2. Places in the Resource Bases are allocated via the Placements and Provision Panel at Halton Authority.

We offer the children at our school a broad, balanced and fun-filled curriculum which is supported by visits out of school and visitors into school. Our building is bright, modern, inviting and our facilities are excellent. We are constantly striving for improvement, searching for new ideas and we welcome the support offered to us by parents, carers and the wider community.
