Mrs Rebecca Bowles
How long have you worked at Astmoor and what do you like about working here?
I have worked as a teacher at Astmoor for seven years, I love that I’ve never had a day here in which I haven’t laughed! Our school is a magical place, full of sparkle from both the children and the adults and I am privileged to be around this each working day.
Where do you come from?
I come from a place far away and across the Runcorn Bridge…Widnes.
What is your favourite subject?
Very tricky question…when I was in school I loved English and to this day I am at my happiest when lost in a wonderful story but I love to teach Maths. I enjoy seeing that ‘lightbulb’ moment when one of our children realises they have got it! These lovely moments happen more often, I think, in Maths.
If you could have a superpower, what would it be and why?
If I could have any superpower it would be the power to heal anyone who suffers, I’d be a super Dr Bowles! Although I do sometimes wish I was telepathic!
Tell us something funny about yourself.
When I was twelve, I got stuck in a lift with a famous heavy metal rock band, Iron Maiden. I was on holiday in Florida and they were at an event in my hotel. I had no idea at the time of course and probably bored them with my large collection of pogs!
What is your favourite food?
This is an easy one! I love spaghetti bolognese, I could quite happily eat it every, single day, especially when it has been made by my mum.
