Mr Andrew Guy
How long have you worked at Astmoor and what do you like about working here?
I have been working at Astmoor for 5 years now. I like working at Astmoor for many reasons but mainly because it is such a happy and friendly place to be. Everybody is extremely helpful and take great pride and care in all that they do. Also, no matter where you are in the school, you are always greeted with a super smile and beautiful manners.
Where do you come from?
I was born and grew up in a town just outside of Liverpool called Kirkby and have also spent many years living in Chester. I now live in Widnes.
What is your favourite subject?
The great thing about being a primary school teacher is that you get to teach (and learn about) a wide variety of subjects which makes this quite a tricky question to answer. But, if I had to choose one subject, my favourite would have to be History. I really enjoy learning about people from the past and how they used to live, especially when it involves grisly, gruesome and gory facts! My particular favourite historical periods are The Tudors and The Victorians.
If you could have a superpower, what would it be and why?
I would have the power to control time. With this power I would be able to travel in a time machine and go back to meet great historical people. I would also be able to get first-hand experience what life was like living in different times from the past. Most importantly, I would use my superpower to turn back the hands on my alarm clock so I could have an extra hour in bed every morning!
Tell us something funny about yourself.
I have a pet cat that acts like a dog because he loves to play fetch! If I make a paper ball and throw it, he will chase after it, bring it back to me in his mouth, drop it at my feet and wait for me to throw it again!
What is your favourite food?
I like lots of different foods and eat quite healthily but my ultimate favourite food has got to be toast! I am a bit of a toast fanatic and, at playtime, can often be found in the staffroom enjoying a piece (or several pieces) of delicious hot, buttered toast… Hmmmmmm!
